Theology of the Body Lenten Series Part I of IV: Prayer Fasting and Almsgiving in the Redemption of the Body

Living in a culture of lust where pleasure seeking and hedonism are the norm rather than the exception, there is a clear need for the redemption of the body and its meaning.  The holy season of Lent is a great time to focus on the redemption of the body through the traditional means of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.  Jesus gave us these three tools to respond to man's treble concupiscence of pride, lust, and greed.

This talk was given at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Soho, London, on February 29, 2012 by Fr Samuel Medley, SOLT.  It starts off - to be frank - a bit slow, but as soon as he ditches the notes it picks up and ends strong.  Below are the notes that he ditched after a few minutes.
